PITTSBURGH, PA — From October 18, 2002 to January 5, 2003, contemporary visual artist Linn Meyers presents a new installation entitled Four Works in The Frick Art Museum rotunda. Meyers’ installation responds to The Frick Art Museum’s temporary exhibition Drawn Toward the Avant-Garde: Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century French Drawings from the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Copenhagen. The exhibitions are free to the public and open during regular site hours.
Linn Meyers has exhibited paintings and drawings in New York City, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia, and is the recipient of a prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. In Pittsburgh, her work has been exhibited at the Mattress Factory and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Ms. Meyers’ work is characterized by evocative and ethereal fields of color, suggesting the undulation of light. A graduate of Cooper Union and California College of Arts and Crafts, Ms. Meyers has also been an artist in residence at the Millay Colony and a fellow at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art.
Linn Meyers created Four Works while participating in the Frick Art & Historical Center’s Visiting Artists program. The Visiting Artists program invites artists working in a variety of disciplines to visit and respond creatively to the Center's history, collections and exhibitions. Through these contemporary artist projects, the Frick welcomes the public to explore the site in new and exciting ways.
